Independent fire-safety consultancy
About J7 Fire Ltd
A controlled, premises-led consultancy supporting responsible persons, landlords, managing agents and businesses with assessment, documentation and practical compliance decisions.
The J7 standard
Professional judgement must be supported by evidence and a defined scope
J7 was established to provide work that remains useful after the inspection: a clear record of the premises, the information considered, the significant findings, the limitations and the actions that require management or specialist follow-up.
Control the instruction
The premises, areas, responsible-person arrangements, available information and required deliverable are confirmed before work proceeds.
Inspect the reality
The building, occupancy, people, fire-safety measures and day-to-day management are considered together rather than treated as disconnected checklist items.
Report accountably
Findings distinguish evidence, information supplied, professional judgement, limitations, priorities and matters requiring another competent discipline.
Competence and appointment
The assessor must be suitable for the premises and the work
Competence is not established by a generic company claim. J7 reviews the premises, complexity and requested scope before appointing an assessor or accepting an instruction.
Controlled assessor appointment
J7 reviews evidence of competence, relevant experience and suitability before an assessor is appointed. The premises, complexity, limitations and accepted scope determine the delivery route; no qualification, registration, accreditation or insurance status is implied beyond the evidence confirmed for that instruction.
What this protects
It reduces the risk of assigning a routine inspection approach to a building, occupancy or management arrangement that requires greater experience or specialist input.
What it does not imply
Fire risk assessment competence is not represented as engineering design, invasive surveying, electrical testing or another specialist discipline. Those requirements are identified and separately scoped.
How J7 works
Direct professional accountability without an anonymous assessment process
Clients receive a named instruction, a confirmed scope and a defined route for questions. Portfolio and account work can be coordinated consistently while each premises remains individually assessed.
Independent advice
Recommendations are based on the premises evidence and relevant duties, not on a requirement to sell equipment or construction work.
Clear boundaries
Where alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors, engineering or another specialist discipline requires separate competence, that boundary is stated.
Usable outputs
Reports and documents are structured so responsible persons and property professionals can understand priorities, allocate actions and retain an audit trail.
Clients and premises
Support shaped around control of the building
J7 works with organisations and people responsible for commercial workplaces, managed residential common parts, HMOs, mixed-use buildings, landlord portfolios and premises with sleeping accommodation.
Clear next steps
Discuss the premises, responsibility and required outcome
Tell us about the premises, the service required and any deadline. J7 Fire Ltd will confirm the scope, fee, VAT and applicable payment or account terms before work proceeds.
